Virtual Tu BiSh’vat Zentangle: A Guided Meditative Doodling Experience

Tuesday, January 18, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

De-stress with Zentangle, held in collaboration with Nefesh SD: the New Center for Jewish Creativity.

Looking to take a break, de-stress, and make art all at the same time? Lose yourself in a session of guided, meditative doodling that begins with a brief “Torah Tangle” introduction by Rabbi Cantor Arlene Bernstein and ends with a piece of art created by you! Do you have to be an artist? Definitely not. If you’ve ever doodled in the margins of a page, you can do this. Just grab a sharpened pencil, fine-tipped black pen, a plain piece of paper, and a Q-tip for paper-smudging.  Certified Zentangle teacher Kathy Shapiro will guide you through easy, straightforward strokes that will leave you feeling relaxed and filled with delight. If you’ve never tried Zentangling, this is a perfect time! This event will not be recorded, so please register in advance and plan on attending live.

Materials List: 1 piece of paper, or sketchbook, 1 fine-tipped black pen (like a Micron 01), a sharp pencil, and a smudger (like a q-tip).

Rabbi Cantor Arlene Bernstein’s full bio can be found here: https://cbisd.org/about/clergy/rabbi-bernstein/
