Why become a member of Beth Israel?
With membership you become part of a sacred community made up of caring clergy, staff and synagogue members who are there to support you through life’s challenges and to celebrate your blessings with you. You get a community of friends to learn with, struggle with and grow with. You will be celebrated for your accomplishments and challenged to improve yourself and your world. You will be a part of Jewish history in San Diego that spans three centuries. You will have the satisfaction of knowing that you are supporting the continuation of Jewish life in San Diego, and in the world.
How do I join?
It’s easy. Director of Membership and Engagement, Bethany Eisenberg will answer your questions, arrange for you to meet our clergy or school directors, or take a tour of our beautiful campus. We’ll also help you find your niche at Beth Israel by connecting you with the people and activities that are meaningful to you. You can reach Bethany Eisenberg at firstname.lastname@example.org, or 858-535-1111 ext. 2554.
What if I can’t afford membership?
No one is turned away for financial reasons. We accept members at a rate commensurate with their ability to pay. Payments may be made in installments.
Do I receive High Holy Day tickets with membership?
Yes! With regular synagogue membership couples receive two adult tickets. Single members receive one adult ticket.
What if I’m in an interfaith family, or LGBT?
You’ve come to the right place! If you have chosen to build a Jewish life within the context of who you are as an individual and/or as a family, and want a synagogue to support and celebrate you and your family through education and a warm, inclusive sense of community, you will feel right at home here.
