Men's Club Annual Appeal

The mission of Beth Israel’s Men’s Club is to strengthen and support our congregation and its Jewish heritage by promoting and fostering the Jewish ideals of Mitzvot, learning and education; supporting Israel; raising religious consciousness; and reinforcing a sense of community through congregational life.

The Men’s Club consists of all adult temple members who identify as male. Unlike our counterparts at other temples, we do not charge dues nor do we receive any funding from Beth Israel. We therefore rely on voluntary contributions to provide many activities and services to the congregation and the Jewish community.

Some of these activities include:

  • Building a Sukkah in the Price Family Courtyard
  • Serving Chanukah latkes for religious school students
  • Gifts of prayer books for B’nai Mitzvah students
  • Hosting a monthly Dinner Forum with noteworthy speakers
  • Distributing Yom HaShoah memorial candles to our congregation
  • Providing challah for Erev Shabbat services
  • Twice monthly discussion group on current events
  • Men’s Club at the Padres game and other congregation outings
  • Co-sponsoring with Women of Beth Israel the popular Torah on Tap program with Rabbi Nevarez
  • Greeting members of the congregation every Shabbat and at the High Holy Day services
  • Leading the Minyan Service each December
  • Donations to multiple Jewish charities, including local groups supporting Holocaust survivors and education

Please support us by considering a donation of any amount to help us continue these and many other activities during the coming year. You can donate online at https://cbisd.shulcloud.com/form/mens-club-donationThe Beth Israel Men’s Club deeply appreciates your support!
