Congregation Beth Israel offers opportunities for students of various ages and abilities to participate in creating music. Rabbi/Cantor Arlene Bernstein, who directs our youth music program notes that “Music often provides healing for the spirit. Singing and playing a musical instrument can be a powerful conduit for better communication, healthy self-esteem and a possible gateway to a better life.” Contact Rabbi/Cantor Bernstein at email@example.com, or 858 535-1111, ext. 2522 for more information, to join a choir, or audition for the band.
The Youth Choir, comprised of singers in Grades 2-6, rehearses every Sunday that Religious School is in session. Pizza and juice are served to Youth Choir members at 11:30 a.m. and rehearsal follows in the Foster Family Chapel. Parents may pick up children at 12:35 p.m.
Our congregation has the rich treasure of a magnificent core of talented teenagers who can elevate the soul with their sound. They help lead worship at Family Services as well as sing at concerts and special events. Teens who have begun their Bar/Bat Mitzvah studies at Beth Israel are eligible to join the Teen Choir.
Use your musical gifts to create uplifting music. Contact Rabbi/Cantor Bernstein at firstname.lastname@example.org, or 858 535-1111, ext. 2522 to arrange an audition.
