Men’s Club Dinner Forum January 2017

Beth Israel’s Men’s Club is pleased to announce that Charlene Seidle and Sharyn Goodson representing the Leichtag Foundation will be our guest speakers at our January 18, 2017 Dinner Forum. Charlene and Sharyn will provide an overview of the work of the Leichtag Foundation and the Coastal Roots Farm.

The Leichtag Foundation, is a private independent foundation which works to honor the legacy of Lee and Toni Leichtag through igniting and inspiring vibrant Jewish life, advancing self-sufficiency and stimulating social entrepreneurship in coastal North San Diego County and Jerusalem. The Coastal Roots Farm located in North County provides tens of thousands of pounds of Fresh vegetables to local hunger relief efforts. Since becoming independent, the Foundation has granted over $100 million, primarily to programs in San Diego and Jerusalem.

Charlene Seidle is the Executive Vice President of the Leichtag Foundation. She is a frequent speaker, presenter and writer about topics pertaining to philanthropy, Jewish community trends and social change. She is on the board of the Jewish Funders Network, formerly served on the board of San Diego Grant makers and has served on many committees and councils. Charlene spent 18 years working for the Jewish Community Foundation of San Diego in increasingly responsible positions including serving as President and CEO of the organization.

 

 

Sharyn Goodson is Leichtag’s Director of Philanthropic Strategy where she is responsible for leading funder partnerships, developing giving opportunities for community members, overseeing a new giving circle initiative, managing a portfolio of grants, producing special educational programs and initiatives and looking at ways the Leichtag Foundation can increase its impact and leverage across funding areas.  Previously, Sharyn was Director of Grants of Jewish Family Service of San Diego and Program Director of the Aspen Community Foundation in Aspen, CO. Sharyn also held professional positions at Jewish Family and Children’s Service in Pittsburgh.

 

 

This program is open to the entire San Diego community, both men and women. Temple or Men’s Club membership is not a requirement to attend. A buffet dinner will be served. The dinner fee is $15.00 with an RSVP and $18.00 without an RSVP. You can RSVP below.
