Men’s Club Speaker Forum: ImpactIsrael’s Lianne Goldsmith

Wednesday, November 16, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Join us for the Men’s Club November Speaker Forum featuring Lianne Goldsmith, West Coast Development Director of ImpactIsrael. Lianne will highlight The Village Way program.

Lianne Goldsmith is an experienced nonprofit professional in the child welfare and family and foster care areas. She served as Program Director and Development Director for the Southern California Foster Family and Adoption Agency, responsible for a broad array of management and fundraising strategies. In addition, she served as Founder and Managing Director of The Possibility Project, Los Angeles (formerly City at Peace), a nonprofit organization that uses performing arts to empower and build confidence in at-risk teens.

“I am excited to be a part of this forward-thinking organization that listens to and honors the voice of its youth and serves to support them from their teens to adulthood,” Goldsmith said. “Helping to educate and strengthen Israel’s next generation of leaders – its children – is one of the most important ways we can ensure a strong and ever-lasting Israel.”

Goldsmith grew up in Zimbabwe, Africa. Her family’s connection to Israel runs deep as her father was a founder of Kibbutz Tzorah in Beit Shemesh, where Goldsmith spent time volunteering as a youth.

The Village Way Educational Initiative and Yemin Orde Youth Village:

The Village Way is an educational methodology designed to transform Israel’s at-risk youth into well adjusted and productive members of society. It was created by visionary Chaim Peri at Yemin Orde – as a home school and safe haven for 450 at-risk youth in Israel. Over the decades, the Village has helped some of Israel’s most marginalized teenagers become accomplished students and value driven professionals. It was developed at Yemin Orde Youth Village in Israel, and is expanding throughout the country; including secular communities, Ultra-Orthodox, Druze, Bedouin, and Arab Israelis. More than 100 of the students at Yemin Orde Youth Village are from Ukraine or Russia. Over 30 of them are here alone, without their families. The others have made aliyah to Israel with their immediate families but have extended family back home.

Together, these efforts are impacting Israel in many positive and transformational ways.
