Grief is the form love takes when someone we love dies. It provides an opportunity to say goodbye, pay respects, acknowledge the pain of loss, and mourn with the comfort and support of friends, relatives, and neighbors. On occasion, the grief process gets derailed and professional help may be needed to get it back on track. We will discuss both “normal” (adaptive) grief that eventually brings wholeness and healing, and complicated grief that may delay healing and require help.
