Join us for another wonderful evening of Cooking with Caring Community. This month’s host is Sabrina Leitner. Sabrina will be making a Round Challah for Rosh Hashanah.

Get ready for a unique collaboration that will fill your heart with joy! Cooking with Caring Community is Partnering with Rabbi Josh Sherwin, Naval Chaplain at MCRD, to create a meaningful Rosh Hashanah experience for our military.  Rabbi Sherwin is leading the troops’ first Erev Rosh Hashanah dinner, and we’re providing the round challot!

Calling All Bakers!

We need 60 individual-sized round challot and your baking skills can make a difference.

Drop-off Details: September 14th, 10 AM: Drop off your fresh or frozen challot at Katey Lindley’s office.

Ingredients

• 2 1/2 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
• 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
• 1/2 cup honey
• 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
• 3 eggs
• 1 tablespoon salt
• 8 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
• 1 tablespoon poppy seeds (optional)
