Brunch Club: Bagels, Lox and De-stressing our Lives

On Wednesday, November 6, the Women’s Philanthropy Board proudly presents our next Brunch Club event. Join us for a fulfilling and informative morning of connection and conversation as we discuss supporting our loved ones and ourselves as we deal with stressful and trying times through a variety of strategies and viewpoints.

Together, we will explore unique perspectives from local San Diego community leaders and experts in their respective fields. Our esteemed panel of speakers will include:


Nicole Monsowitz

Nicole Monsowitz is a trained therapist, educator and certified teen and parent coach who specializes in adolescents/teens, parents, and adults. Nicole’s specialties include anxiety, depression, eating disorders, drug and alcohol abuse, PTSD, ADHD, and other emotional/mental health issues. Nicole holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychiatric Social Work from San Diego State University, and a Master’s Degree in Behavioral Health Education and Promotion from Teachers College/Columbia University.

 


Dr. Michael Spatuzzi

 

Dr. Michael Spatuzzi

Dr. Michael Spatuzzi has been practicing acupuncture and Oriental Medicine for over 35 years. The fundamental practices of Traditional Chinese Medicine all aim toward reducing stress and keeping life in balance. Dr. Spatuzzi works at Rady Children’s Hospital, UC San Diego Health, teaches at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and has a private practice in Del Mar.

 

 


Rabbi Yael Vurgan

Rabbi Yael Vurgan

Rabbi Yael Vurgan was ordained in November 2018 by the Israeli Rabbinic Program, Hebrew Union College, and currently serves as a regional Rabbi in Sha’ar HaNegev, our sister region in Israel. A mother of two, Yael grew up in a secular family in the city of Rishon-Le’Zion. She studied Jewish thought and Hebrew literature and has a Master’s Degree in Contemporary Judaism – both from Hebrew University. Professionally, Yael has worked in several educational and social institutes including Van Leer Institute, Mandel Institute for Leadership, Adva Center for Equality and Social Justice, and the Center for Development of Communal Social Action.

This event will be held at a private residence in Carmel Valley
(location provided at time of registration). A light kosher brunch will be served.

Please join us for the largest gathering of Jewish women in San Diego.This year, we are thrilled to celebrate the COLLECTIVE POWER OF KINDNESS at OPTIONS. Our keynote speaker, Orly Wahba, author of Kindness Boomerang: How to Save the World (and Yourself), and CEO of Kindness USA, will give us the tools we need to spread kindness and foster positivity.
