Erev Shabbat Service with Youth and Teen Choir and Band and visiting speaker Rabbi Yael Vurgan

A service open to all and featuring music by the Teen and Youth Choir and Band.

Service will feature guest speaker Rabbi Yael Vurgan. Ordained in Nov. 2018 by the Israeli Rabbinic Program, HUC Jerusalem, and since the ordination serves as the regional Rabbi at Sha’ar-Hanegev. 48 Years old, mother of two boys, lives in Modi’in. She grew up in a secular family in the city of Rishon-Le’Zion. B.A. Degree in Jewish Thought and Hebrew Literature, and M.A. Degree in Contemporary Judaism – both from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. Worked as a director and coordinator of programs and projects in several educational and social institutes: Van Leer Institute, Mandel Institute for Leadership, Adva Center for Equality and Social Justice, and within the Israeli Reform Movement, in the Center for Development of Communal Social Action. Served as a Student-Rabbi for Kehilat Ha-Shachar in Even-Yehudah. Worked as an assistant to the president and OT director, in ‘Rabbis for Human Rights’. Active in peace and coexistence initiatives and organizations.
