Does death end life from a Jewish point of view, or is it the passage from one stage of life to another?  In discussion format, Rabbi Lawson will explore the development of diverse Jewish views of the afterlife beginning with the Hebrew Bible and  continuing to the present day.  Using the award winning book by Dr. Neil Gillman, “The Death of Death: Resurrection and Immortality in Jewish Thought,” the class will seek to recover our tradition’s understanding of the afterlife.  In the end, we will need to possibly rethink our personal views as to what happens after our physical death.
