Celia Tedde Elected to National NFTY Post

Mazal tov to Celia Tedde for her election to the 2015-2016 National NFTY Board as North American Religious and Cultural Vice President! The announcement was made to Beth Israel’s Board and staff in the following letter from URJ President Rabbi Rick Jacobs.

To the Leadership of Beth Israel,

Mazel tov on the election of your member, Celia Tedde, as NFTY’s next North American Religious and Cultural Vice President. By electing Celia as NFTY’s Religious and Cultural VP for the 2015-2016 academic year, the NFTY General Board expressed loudly and clearly that Celia’s leadership skills are exemplary and her potential is extraordinary. No doubt, NFTY will benefit greatly from her service to our Movement, and the NFTY Team is here to guide and support her every step of the way.

It has been our experience in this role that the most amazing teens come from equally wonderful congregations – thank you for all you have done to raise such an incredible young woman. Please join us in celebrating Celia’s accomplishment. You can find a link to the press release announcing her election here and a link to our blog with the bios of the newly elected board here.

L’shalom,
Rick

At the 2015 Biennial, Celia was given the honor of chanting torah and leading 5,000 people on both the last verse and prayer for healing. Here are Celia’s words from her Facebook post:

“What an incredible honor it was to be at Biennial 2015 in Orlando, Florida. I feel so fortunate that I get to be part of such an inspiring movement, and even more fortunate that they have allowed me to give back to the community. Thank you NFTY and the Union for Reform Judaism!”
