Women of Beth Israel – Rosh Chodesh Adar II

Wednesday, March 2, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

We get to celebrate Adar twice this year!  We are thrilled to have Joellyn Zollman join us for Rosh Chodesh Adar II.   Since we will be meeting just before Purim, and during Adar, we will be enacting The Great Latke- Hamantaschen Debate. This is an actual debate that takes place at the University of Chicago every year where professors use their expertise to argue for the merits of one traditional Jewish food or the other.

Joellyn Zollman holds a Ph.D in Jewish history from Brandeis University. Her areas of specialization include American Jewish history, Jewish art, and Jewish food studies. Locally, she has taught at San Diego State, UCSD, and  the San Diego Center for Jewish Culture. Nationally, she works as a scholar for the Melton Travel Seminars, developing and leading Jewish heritage tours of the United States.

Rosh Chodesh events are a space for those who identify as female.

There is no fee, but please RSVP for planning purposes. This event is held virtually on Zoom. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the event.
