Welcoming the Stranger: Reaching Out and Supporting Refugees in our Community Through Art

Tuesday, April 3, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

$10

Enjoy an evening learning how local artists worked with refugee women and students in El Cajon to produce beautiful artwork empowering them to use their voices and share their stories.

At this time of the year, during Passover, we are reminded that we were refugees too- strangers in a strange land.  Join us in our efforts to raise awareness of the JFS Refugee Resettlement Program and learn how you can help in “Welcoming the Stranger.”

Fee: $10.00 pay at door; checks to JFS (Memo line:Welcome Home) or cash. Passover-friendly light bites provided. Entry fee includes 1 opportunity drawing ticket.

Don’t come empty handed! We will be collecting new/sealed packages of diapers to be donated to refugee families in need.

Program powered by: Beth Israel Social Action Committee, Global Art Project for Peace, Jewish Family Service, Posts for Peace & Justice, San Diego Silk Guild, Welcome Home, and Women of Beth Israel.
