S’lichot Program & Service with Clergy featuring Speaker Nicole Nevarez

Saturday, September 9, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Awakening to Joy; Pathways to Heart Centered Living
Daily life in our culture today demands a constant state of doing rather than being. And given global news, many of us feel like we are living in a time of endless fragmentation. It is incredibly easy to stay wrapped up in all of the noise but so often that finds us depleted and separated from our authentic and whole selves. In the great wisdom of Jewish tradition, the High Holy Days offer us an annual, ritual and communal space to slow down, reflect and tap into our deepest truths. As we set aside time for S’lichot and open the portal to this sacred period, together we will explore frames and practices for tapping into our heart center allowing us to manifest more joy and wholeness for ourselves and as such, the world around us in this new year 5784.

Nicole Nevarez “helps things run better.” Be it organizational culture and functionality, personal or professional development or group dynamics, Nicole offers guidance, feedback and tools to move people and processes forward. Nicole is a trainer, facilitator, coach and Jewish Educator. Currently, she serves as the Founding CEO of Ta’amod, a multi-pronged initiative dedicated to fostering safety, equity, accountability and holistically well culture in Jewish communal workplaces. Nicole has held multiple leadership and professional lead roles for local and National Jewish organizations and nonprofit NYC theaters. In her personal practice, she provides independent consulting and coaching to individuals and mission-critical organizations to support them in reflecting their values in action. A longtime Jewish educator, facilitator and spiritual seeker, Nicole combines her experience in theater with her years of teaching adolescents, facilitating groups, coaching and leading empowerment programs to develop and deliver dynamic and accessible content on a myriad of topics and with varied interactive modalities. Nicole believes that when we do the work to reflect on ourselves and our organizations, we have the power to impact deep systemic change.

After 40+ years in NY, as of 2020 Nicole lives in San Diego, CA with her partner, Rabbi Jason Nevarez their two children and Sadie the dog.
