Fifty years ago, on October 28, 1965, the Second Vatican Council of the Roman Catholic Church issued its ground breaking document Nostra Aetate (In Our Time) on the Church’s relationship with non-Christian religions. This revolutionary document caused a profound change in the way the Catholic Church dealt with the interreligious world, particularly in Catholic/Jewish Relations.

Since that time tremendous strides have been made between Catholics and people of other religions, particularly with Jews, in coming to a deeper understanding and appreciation of one another. The fiftieth anniversary of the promulgation of Nostra Aetate is something to celebrate!
