The Men’s Club of Beth Israel is holding its annual packing of Yom HaShoah candles that will be distributed to Temple members and friends of the Men’s Club. The event will take place this year on Sunday March 4th, where we will be packing and addressing candles for distribution.

The packing will start at 8:30 am until approximately noon in the Beth Israel social hall. All volunteer help for this wonderful mitzvah is welcomed. We need help to assist us for this important event. This simple gesture should remind us all to remember the Shoah. Refreshments will be served in Cafe Beth Israel during the packaging event.

This year we will be mailing candles only to those who have indicated their desire to receive them. Candles will also be sent to all parents of religious school students and all new families to Beth Israel.  We will also place candles outside the sanctuary during Shabbat services, beginning on March 9th through April 7th, for those who have not received a candle but wish to have one.  This year the candle lighting should be performed at sundown, April 11th,
