Men’s Club Dinner Forum February 2017

Beth Israel’s Men’s Club is pleased to announce that Deacon Jim Vargas will be our guest speaker at our February 2017 Dinner Forum. You will have the opportunity to hear Deacon Vargas provide us with an overview on the “Recent Trends in Homelessness and Housing”.

Deacon Vargas assumed his current role in February 2015. He strongly believes that it is our obligation to help and care for people who are homeless, as he leads Father Joe’s Villages’ passionate team to provide the services and support our neighbors who are homeless need to gain self-sufficiency.  Deacon Vargas oversees all facets of the organization, including St. Vincent de Paul Village, Toussaint Center, Josue Homes and their portfolio of affordable housing.

Deacon Vargas is a past board chairman of the Rady Children’s Hospital of San Diego Foundation, founding chair of Epiphany Prep Charter School of San Diego, current chair of Totus Pro Deo and Casa Cornelia Law Center and serves on the board of The Resource Center for Community Development.

He is a deacon of the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego serving the community of Mary, Star of the Sea in La Jolla, previously having served the community of Our Lady of Angels in downtown San Diego.

This program is open to the entire San Diego community, both men and women. Temple or Men’s Club membership is not a requirement to attend. A buffet dinner will be served. The dinner fee is $15.00 with an RSVP and $18.00 without and RSVP. You can RSVP below.
