“Erroneously apprenticed to a band of pirates, morally-centered young Frederick serves them to the best of his abilities. Upon release on his twenty-first birthday, he decides to strike off on his own and become an upstanding citizen – which may even mean bringing the pirates to justice. But soon he meets Mabel and they fall in love. Everything seems perfect until Frederick discovers that he was born on February 29, and technically only has a birthday on a leap year. Will his sense of duty and honor force him to leave Mabel and serve the pirates for another sixty-three years, until he officially turns twenty-one?”
