No woman should ever be trafficked and sold for sex. Every woman should have the opportunity to build a purposeful life, and they need the same support systems that we give our own daughters, sisters, and grand-daughters.

GenerateHope is a safe place for survivors of sex trafficking to heal and find restoration in long-term housing and trauma-informed therapy, education, and vocational support. Since recovery from sexual exploitation is a long-term process, GenerateHope provides safety, community, and individualized life skills support to work through the deep trauma and discover a healthy, purpose-filled life.

Susan Munsey founded GenerateHope in 2008 and is the Director of Programs, developing innovative programs for young women and teens who have survived the trauma of sex trafficking. She is passionate about rescuing and rehabilitating women and educating our community about this issue. Susan sits on The San Diego Regional Human Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children Advisory Council and co-chairs the HT/CSEC Service Provider Committee. Susan has a Masters degree in social work from Smith College in Massachusetts and is licensed in California as a clinical social worker. She has 25 years of clinical experience in the community, in hospital settings, and in private practice. She loves her beautiful daughter, adorable grandsons and her troublesome Basset Hound.
