Cheesecake Cook-off: Bake with Berk
Thursday, May 25, 2017 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Come Bake Together!
One of the most delicious customs in celebration of Shavuot is the tradition of eat dairy foods on Shavuot. This tradition compares the words of Torah to the sweetness of milk and honey. Blintzes and cheesecake are among the popular foods to make and enjoy for the holiday.
This year, we are inviting all Beth Israelites with a passion for desserts to come together to bake cheesecakes and other dairy treats that will be served at the Erev Shabbat Oneg on May 26th, 2017.
In the spirit of innovation and new techniques, we thought it would be fun to bake some cheesecakes in unconventional ways. The hottest new trend in tabletop cooking is in an Instant Pot. Do you have one? If so – check out this cool recipe: http://instantpot.com/fabulous-cheese-cake/. It can also be made in a Crock Pot: http://crockpotladies.com/recipe/crockpot-cheesecake/
Bring your ingredients and tools to the Feuerstein Family Activity Center to bake together and share some tasty torah provided by Rabbi Berk.
Please RSVP below by Monday, May 22nd. For questions, please contact Ilene at 858-900-2516 or itatro@cbisd.org
If you can’t make it to the event but would still like to bring a dairy dessert to the oneg, please let us know!
