Janet and her family have enjoyed being active members of Beth Israel for many years. Her initial involvement was on the Religious School Parent Committee. She then joined the Board of Women of Beth Israel chairing social and cultural programs and was recently elected to serve as the co-President. In addition to co-chairing the annual fundraiser in 2021, Janet served on several Gala and Silent Auction Committees. She continues to volunteer at Rachel’s Women Center and for Caring Community programs. Additionally, Janet participated in the Leadership Development Program and in 2023, she was a recipient of Beth Israel’s Volunteer of the Year award.

Janet grew up in the Chicago area, attended Brandeis University and obtained her MBA at the University of Wisconsin. Professionally, she was in marketing in the financial services industry and then moved into pharmaceutical sales. She has been active with the American Jewish Committee and was part of the group that formed Welcome Home, an organization assisting new Americans in San Diego.

Janet and her husband, John, have two grown sons, David and Ben, who were part of BIBS, attended Religious School and continued to celebrate their B’nai Mitzvot and confirmation at Beth Israel. A recent highlight was joining the wonderful Beth Israel group and Rabbis for an amazing trip to Israel.
