Sarah originally hails from Toronto, Ontario, in Canada. She joined the Beth Israel family in 2016. Since then, Sarah has immersed herself in service to our community. She helped create TRIBE, the young adult’s group at Beth Israel, becoming the TRIBE Rosh since its inception. Sarah serves on the Membership Committee, the Outreach Committee, and participates in Social Action events. She is a fixture at Friday Erev Shabbat Services and greets everyone with a smile, and pre-COVID, with a warm embrace. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 crisis, Sarah continued her service, volunteering for the Challah Project by delivering challah to congregants and helping to prepare gift bags to distribute for Rosh Hashanah. She is steadfast in her engagement in synagogue life and considers Beth Israel her home away from home.

In her professional life, Sarah formerly worked in aviation and enjoyed traveling the world. Since 2011, she has practiced as a Criminal Defense Attorney here in San Diego and previously, in Los Angeles. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Psychology and Sociology from York University, a Juris Doctorate and a Master of Laws in Federal Trial Advocacy from California Western School of Law, and a Master of Social Work Degree from San Diego State University. Her spirit of service extends professionally to The California Innocence Project, Ronald McDonald House, and various organizations helping Veterans.
