Women of Beth Israel invites you to celebrate Rosh Chodesh Kislev. Rosh Chodesh Kislev is often represented by women activating their power. With this in mind, we wanted to explore how women could take power in their own health and wellness journies. This event will feature meditation as well as a women’s health panel exploring the topics of breast cancer screening, breast health, and osteoporosis. Our panelists are medical professionals from our Beth Israel community, Haydee Ojeda-Fournier, MD, Sarah L Blair, MD, and Heather Hofflich, DO.

Dr. Ojeda-Fournier is a breast imaging specialist with expertise in digital mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis, breast US, breast MRI, molecular breast imaging, and image guided interventions. She completed her training and was on faculty at the University of Cincinnati before joining the radiology faculty at UCSD in 2007. Since 2009, Dr. Ojeda-Fournier has been the Lead Interpreting Physician for breast imaging and since 2010 she has served as the Director of Breast Imaging.

Dr. Sarah Blair is a specialist in oncology surgery. She completed a fellowship in Surgical Oncology at City of Hope National Medical Center, where she was honored as the Terrell McElligot Surgical Oncology Fellow. She received advanced training in the surgical treatment of breast cancers, melanoma, sarcoma, and other surgical tumors. She is certified by the American Board of General Surgery. Dr. Blair is the vice-chair of academic affairs and is a professor in UC San Diego Health Department of Surgery.

Dr. Heather Hofflich, DO is a board-certified endocrinologist and internist. She graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine medical school in 2001and has over 19 years of experience in the medical field Dr. Hofflich is a fellow of the American College of Endocrinology, a distinction that recognizes her outstanding achievements in endocrinology.  She has a special interest in osteoporosis and a woman’s health and is a professor in UC San Diego Health Department of Medicine.
