Beth Israel and Interfaith Shelter Network are co-hosting guests at St. James by-the-Sea. 

Guests will arrive Tuesday, January 3rd, to officially launch the start of the eleven-day period at St. James. Each guest is pre-screened and receives additional case management support as they endeavor to get their lives on more solid footing. Guests will stay in the Parish Hall and will be with at St. James by-the-Sea on weekdays from 5:00 pm to 7:00 am the following morning. In addition to a cot, they are given a semi-private area in which to sleep, a warm evening meal, and a light breakfast. As each guest leaves during the day for work, job hunting, going to school, or Sunday worship services, we send them off with a healthy sack lunch. On weekends, guests will be invited to stay during the day, if they desire. 

Guests will have access to showers and laundry facilities, under supervision, next door at La Jolla Presbyterian.  

We are in need of overnight supervisor stays volunteers. Please sign up at https://tinyurl.com/y7ejzakz. No previous experience is needed. Volunteers will receive instructions and a coordinator will be there to answer questions. Guests will have been screened to be of sound mind and free of drug and alcohol problems. Volunteers will be provided with a cot in a room adjacent to the shelter room. A welcome letter on the sign-up site provides additional details.
