The History of Jewish Music and Text During Times of Crisis with Yale Strom

Wednesday, March 25 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Free

Some of the most memorable instrumental music and songs that are part of our collective human experience have been created during times of duress by all cultures. Being creative gives one hope and comfort and is a passive form of resistance against the enemy – whether the enemy takes the form of another human or virus. Yale Strom will give a history of Jewish songs that were created during times of crisis, who created them and what is the text about. He will also illustrate some of the songs on his violin.
