The month leading up to the High Holidays – called “Elul” in Hebrew – is a time for us as individuals, and as a community, to prepare for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. We do this by searching our hearts, beginning the work of teshuvah, repentance, and getting ourselves ready for the holy days to come.
