Beth Israel is honored to host American Friends of Herzog Hospital in a special Nosh & Learn event featuring Dr. Jacob Haviv, CEO of Herzog Hospital. Join us for a special event where Dr. Haviv will speak about the important work being done at Herzog Hospital, Israel’s foremost center for geriatric, respiratory, mental health, and psychotrauma care, treatment, and research. Established in 1894, Herzog Hospital has 330 beds in the original building and has recently added another 270 beds with the construction of the Samson Pavilion. The hospital has special expertise in treating Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease, as well as a Children’s Chronic Respiratory Care Department that treats children aged 3 months to 21 years. In addition, Herzog’s Israel Center for the Treatment of Psychotrauma treats victims of terror attacks, war, domestic violence, and other causes of trauma, providing both treatment and training in Israel and internationally.

Dr. Jacob (Kobi) Haviv, CEO/Director General of Herzog Medical Center, will be the keynote speaker at the event. Dr. Haviv is a physician specializing in Public Health, Occupational Medicine, and Medical Management. He has served as an IDF medical officer for several field and elite special operations units and held various positions at Kaplan Medical Center and the Ministry of Health. Dr. Haviv is also an expert in managing the COVID-19 crisis in the elderly population and the Arab community in East Jerusalem.
