With politics on everyone’s mind these days, we thought it would be a good idea to check in again with Congressman Scott Peters. The former San Diego City Councilman knows our community backwards and forwards, and will talk with us about anything ranging from legislation to world affairs.

Congressman Scott Peters serves California’s 52nd Congressional district. First elected in 2012, he currently serves on the House Budget Committee and the House Energy and Commerce Committee, as well as the Joint Economic Committee. He formerly served on the House Armed Services Committee, the House Judiciary Committee and the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. He is ranked the 4th most independent Democrat in Congress by the National Journal.

Scott earned his undergraduate degree from Duke University and worked as an economist for the United States Environmental Protection Agency before attending New York University School of Law. He and his wife of 33 years, Lynn, are 30-year residents of the 52nd District. They live in La Jolla and have a daughter and son.
