Men’s Club Dinner Forum November 2017

Wednesday, November 8, 2017 @ 6:15 pm - 8:00 pm

Featuring Beth Israel’s Caring Community Director Liz Levine

Please note that this event is scheduled for the 2nd Wednesday,  November 8th

Beth Israel’s Men’s Club is pleased to announce that Caring Community Director Liz Levine will be our guest speaker at our November 8, 2017 Dinner Forum. This will be an excellent opportunity to hear Liz discuss the status of our temple’s Caring Community activities and programs, and a vision for coming years that she and Rabbi Berk share.

A nurturer at heart, Liz looks forward to retiring to Santa Fe with her husband Andrew Resnick at the end of the year. This Dinner Forum will be an excellent opportunity to join the Men’s Club in thanking her for her years of service to Beth Israel. Personal notes or farewell cards will also be collected should you wish to express your appreciation to Liz. The Temple will also be honoring Liz at Friday evening services on November 17th.

Liz Levine became Director of Caring Community in July 2015 after many years of volunteering at Beth Israel. She served on numerous committees, on the Board of Directors for eight years, and as Vice President, Education, for two of those years. She was honored as Volunteer of the Year in 1994.

Liz’s strong interest in developing a caring culture began back in 1985, when a new endeavor at Beth Israel called the Human Resources Program trained volunteers to reach out to hospitalized, ill, and bereaved members and those undergoing other life challenges.

Liz’s hope is that Beth Israel will become known as The Caring Community, wherein caring is simply and eloquently descriptive of our congregation’s culture. Her goal has been to expand Beth Israel’s caring focus congregation-wide through networks of members and volunteers.

Liz holds an M.A. in Jewish Studies from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (Cincinnati campus) and a B.A. with majors in Religion and Journalism from Trinity University in San Antonio, where she graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.

This program is open to the entire San Diego community, both men and women. Temple or Men’s Club membership is not a requirement to attend. The buffet dinner fee for this special event is $18.00.
