“Israel’s Fifth Election in Four Years: Will the Fifth Time Be the Charm?” with Eetta Prince-Gibson

This presentation will include an analysis of the reasons behind Israel’s political instability and repeated elections, along with a breakdown of the results of the most recent election and the chances for the formation of a stable government.  Or are we likely to return to the voting booths soon? Based on her extensive reporting on Israel’s political system and her academic-activist understanding of Israeli society, Eetta will provide an original, comprehensive, and thought-provoking description of the political situation following the November 1 elections.

Award-winning journalist Eetta Prince-Gibson, formerly the Editor-in-Chief of The Jerusalem Report, is now the Israel editor of Moment Magazine and a regular contributor to +61J, Haaretz, The Forward, Hadassah Magazine, Foreign Affairs, and other Israeli and international publications, and a frequent commentator for domestic and international radio and TV.

As a journalist, Eetta’s work focuses on civil society, especially gender and Israel-Palestinian relations,  and on Jerusalem, as well as political analyses, She has traveled to Greece, Haiti, Mumbai, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Northern Ireland and France, covering breaking stories and socio-political developments.  In her speaking, she weaves together her professional and personal experiences as a feminist, Zionist and social activist. Eetta has been awarded the Clarion Award, the National Religion Writers’ Award, the Search for Common Ground Award for Reporting and Analysis on the Middle East, and several Rockower Awards.
