HELP SUPPORT THE HUMANITARIAN RESPONSE IN THE SAN DIEGO/TIJUANA BORDER REGION

Your support will give vulnerable families the resources and compassionate support they need at this critical point of their journey to find freedom, safety, and a better life.

Beth Israel will have barrels on site to collect supplies for this drive.

  • Backpacks, duffel bags or carry-on luggage
  • Beanies or winter hats
  • Gloves
  • Girls clothing size 6-12
  • Boys jeans/pants sizes 8-12
  • Boys underwear sizes 4T, 5T, 6-8, 10-12, 12-14 (new)
  • Men’s pants, size small
  • Winter jackets all sizes
  • Leggings-women’s size small, stretchy enough at the ankle to get over a tracking bracelet
  • Hangers
  • Sneakers- all sizes from children, up to adult size 7 men’s, up to size 7 in women’s
  • Cases of 8oz Water Bottles
  • $20 international calling cards (any brand)

Volunteer to help at the local migrant shelter with sorting donations, cleaning, preparing and serving meals, etc. We need Spanish-speaking volunteers to escort families to the bus station or airport. All volunteers must apply. Please contact Carole Yellen at caroley@jfssd.org or 858-637-3395 to obtain the link to the New Volunteer Intake form.

Provide Meals at the local migrant shelter. Groups are needed to prepare and serve meals for up to 150 people. Food needs to be brought to the shelter fully cooked (limited kitchen facilities) with volunteers prepared to serve. We request meals include soup, rice, beans, tortillas, and fruit (oranges and bananas). Please contact Carole Yellen at caroley@jfssd.org or 858-637-3395 to learn how to schedule.
