Originally from New York City, Rabbi Jason Nevarez graduated from the Bronx High School of Science and went to the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he received his BA in 1998. He was ordained by the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York in 2006, where he earned Master’s degrees in both Hebrew Literature and Religious Education, and was the recipient of a number of scholarships, in addition to several academic prizes in Jewish education. Rabbi Nevarez held residencies and internships at Larchmont Temple, Larchmont, NY, Temple Beth Emeth, Ann Arbor, MI, and at Temple Shaaray Tefila, Bedford NY, where he served for 17 years before becoming the Spiritual Leader of Beth Israel. Prior to entering Rabbinical School, he served as a Youth Director at synagogues in Connecticut and Michigan, and also as a Regional Director for NFTY (North American Federation of Temple Youth).

 

 

Nicole Bernstein is a self-described “recovering hi tech exec” who left Qualcomm in 2012 in order to devote her attention and passions to the Jewish non-profit world, political advocacy, and grassroots community organizing.  Nicole is the granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, and the first born American child to an Israeli immigrant family. Her career spans more than 20 years, ten of which she spent living and working in senior management roles in Tel Aviv as a startup hi-tech entrepreneur where she earned “Israel’s Top 10 Best Women-Led Companies” Award in 2007 from Springboard Women’s VC Accelerator.  Nicole more recently served as the San Diego Executive Director of StandWithUs, and as AIPAC’s San Diego Director from 2017-2021. Nicole and her family live in Carmel Valley where her sons attend their neighborhood public school; and Nicole currently serves on the Congregation Beth Am Hebrew Learning Center Committee as well as the Del Mar Union School District Equity Advisory Committee.

 

 

Eveie Wilpon has built a career building companies and brands. Her experience spans B2B and B2C companies—including her own. Beyond the corporate boardroom, always intertwined with Eveie’s professional success has been her community leadership and involvement. This includes, but not limited to, founding the UPenn Women’s Alumni Mentoring Program, ADL Board Member, Yesod Women’s Leadership, Junior Achievement, Board of the Friends of Island Academy, running the largest Women in Business school conferences. She is also a past nominee for the Athena Pinnacle Award for women working in STEM. Eveie holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

 

 

 

Tamar Caspi has an extensive background in media: she is a published author; wrote an internationally syndicated column; produced television, news, and radio; and is now in the marketing world in online and social media platforms. She is a Founder and former board member of Kavod Charter School, where both her sons currently attend school. Tamar has served on numerous boards and committees throughout the San Diego Jewish community since 2005, most recently YESOD and Leadership Development Institute at Congregation Beth Israel. She currently sits on the board of the Navajo Community Planning Group and is a co-chair of the Jewish Federations commUNITY 2023 mega mission to Israel.
