Premier Philanthropy Event Honors Evelyn and Ernest Rady, Sam Zien

Each fall, the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) San Diego Chapter gathers civic leaders, volunteers, and philanthropists from throughout our region to celebrate the spirit of philanthropy at a National Philanthropy Day luncheon. Over the last 42 years, this luncheon has become the premier event for San Diego’s most committed philanthropists and community leaders to join together and honor their own. Last year more than 1,000 people participated in the celebration.

This year’s event, which sold out in September, will take place Tuesday, October 28 and honorees include Beth Israel’s own Evelyn and Ernest Rady, and Sam “The Cooking Guy” Zien.

Evelyn and Ernest Rady will receive the award for Outstanding Philanthropist. They are being recognized for their transformational philanthropy and dedication to the community. Their contributions to the community are not only financial but also their time and commitment to the organizations they support.

Sam Zien, winner of 14 Emmy Awards for his show “Sam The Cooking Guy,” will be receiving the award for Outstanding Celebrity Volunteer. As a committed and steadfast supporter of Mama’s Kitchen and Noah Homes, Zien has participated in countless promotions and events benefiting these organizations and the people they serve.

Please join Beth Israel in congratulating our deserving honorees and in thanking them for their significant contributions, both in the community and at Beth Israel.
