Meg Mandel became Development Director in June 2016 after a long history of volunteering at Beth Israel. She has been a member of Beth Israel since she and her family moved to San Diego in 2006. Meg served as President of the Board from 2013-2015. Before becoming president, she chaired our Development Committee, sat on the Executive Committee, Endowment Campaign Cabinet, Membership Committee, and co-chaired the Religious School Parent Committee. Meg is a graduate of our Leadership Development Institute.
In addition to her involvement with Beth Israel, Meg serves on the Women’s Philanthropy Board of the Jewish Federation of San Diego. She is also an active volunteer with Words Alive and participates in their Adolescent Book Group program. In her free time, she loves to swim, hike, bike, travel, and read.
Originally from Altoona, Pennsylvania, Meg graduated from Brown University with a B.A. in American Civilization and earned an M.A.T. from Rice University.
