Jeanette’s Enchanted Garden
Thanks to the generosity of long-time members Helene and Allan Ziman, we are reinventing and expanding our Bill and Sid Rubin Preschool garden area into Jeanette’s Enchanted Garden. To learn more about Jeanette Rubin, Helene’s mother, and her love for children and gardening, click here.
The garden will include many elements, including a mural that we are inviting you to design. With the help of Jackie Seidman and her landscape company, Jackie and the Bean Stalk, the plan is to enter the garden through a white arbor with colorful textures and patterns in the landscape. Creative stepping-stones and colorful recycled tires filled with flowers or fruit will lead the children to a tree with small seats that look on to a magical fairy garden area. From that area will be boxes of organic vegetables grown by the children. The mural will be located on the back wall of the preschool playground and will be seen by children and families from classrooms and walk areas facing the garden.
