The People’s Climate March

Sunday, September 21, 2014 @ 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Dear Fellow Citizens of the Earth,
I’m sure that you hear a lot these days about how the world is falling apart because of climate change. The entire planet, 7 billion people, trillions of other creatures, is at risk. Here and now is your chance to make a difference:

World leaders are gathering September 21 to discuss the future of our planet. We can put public pressure on all governments to take action to fight climate change. This is going to be the largest climate march in history. The biggest march will be in New York, but there are chapters/marches all over the globe, including one in San Diego.

The San Diego Chapter will include presentations by Todd Gloria, Richard Barerra, and Kevin Beiser. Not only will politicians be there and presenting, but so will religious leaders, environmentalists, and even a 10 year old. People of all different backgrounds will be there to fight for what is right. With your help, we can get at least 1,000 people.

The march will begin at City Hall/Civic Center and end at the County Administration Waterfront Park

Ways to help:

1. Attend the March. The more the merrier! Larger numbers equals larger impact. The more pressure we put on politicians, the more likely it is that they will listen. RSVP for the San Diego March here.

2. Write Letters, Make Signs, Volunteer. These are free and easy ways to help out with the march. Contact mdisenhouse@cox.net if you are interested in volunteering at the march or for upcoming events in San Diego.

I am trying to organize a group of kids to come with me and help distribute signs for the San Diego chapter, and maybe help with a solar brigade section of the march. Please ask me for details, if interested. You can contact me at zachary122@sbcglobal.net, or contact Program Director Bonnie Graff at bgraff@cbisd.org.

3. Donate. Planning a huge event like this isn’t easy or free. San Diego 350, the organization leading the San Diego chapter, relies mostly on volunteers, but needs money to print flyers and posters, etc. Donate here.

4. Raise Awareness. Send emails like this one. (Or forward it.) Just try to get the word out.

If we mobilize, if we march, we can make history. If we don’t, well…
