Lori Shearer

Lori Shearer brings dynamic career experience in theater arts, sales, and fundraising/development management to the Beth Israel Board. Lori is a professional actor who was based in New York and Los Angeles. During her 20-year theater career, she originated dozens of roles while developing new plays. While in Los Angeles, Lori also worked as a story analyst for Sandra Bullock’s production company and was a senior account executive in new business acquisition for Sky Advertising, a recruitment advertising agency. Lori earned a Certificate in Fundraising Management from Indiana University Center on Philanthropy Fundraising School and a BFA in Theater from Boston University. She has a specialty in grant writing and individual gift recruitment.

Lori and her husband Brian Haubenstock joined Beth Israel in 2009. Their son Zachary attended the Bill and Sid Rubin Preschool, Camp Beth Israel, currently attends the Lee and Frank Goldberg Family Religious School and becomes Bar Mitzvah, on May 13th, 2023. At Beth Israel, Lori has served on the Development Committee, Co-Chaired Caring Community, has been on several Gala and Silent Auction committees, and is a member of the Holocaust Task Force. At Jewish Family Service, she was on the Behavioral Health Committee. She is a founding sponsor of American Jewish Committee (AJC) San Diego and serves on AJC’s Education Committee.
