About the Carl M. Esenoff Memorial Award for Extraordinary Community Service

Carl M. Esenoff established high standards ofextraordinary community service. Congregation Beth Israel presents the Carl M. Esenoff Memorial Award for Extraordinary Community Service from time to time to outstanding Jewish individuals in recognition of their service to the Jewish and general communities. Recipients are residents of San Diego County who maintain a meaningful membership in Congregation Beth Israel and have been active in, supportive of, and demonstrated leadership in the synagogue, the Jewish Federation, and one or more other Jewish organizations. Recipients also have demonstrated leadership in cultural arts, welfare, business, professional, and/or political activities organizations of the general community.
