About BITY

BITY, or Beth Israel Temple Youth, is the congregation's senior youth group, for students in grades 9 - 12. It offers social, religious, cultural, athletic and community service activities that provide teens with the opportunity to meet and interact with other Jewish youth in San Diego, Southern California and the United States. BITY is affiliated with NFTY (The North American Federation of Temple Youth). For more information and NFTY, BITY or to be added to the BITY mailing list, please contact the Youth Department .

Beth Israel's 8th-12th grade program is called BITY, which stands for Beth Israel Temple Youth. BITY provides opportunities for high school age youth to participate in activities, form lasting friendships and learn leadership skills. Introducing Your 5774 BITY Board

Teens in the Beth Israel High School have claimed their future. After listening to speeches, the students voted for and elected the 5774 BITY Board. We are all thrilled for the promise our future leaders hold, while honoring those who have led before. It is my honor and privilege to announce the BITY Board for next year:

RUACH- The new Teen Shabbat Experience

Join us beginning in the fall for our monthly teen service in the activities center at 6:00 p.m. with our new youth director Daniel Brenner. Join us every Friday evening to welcome Shabbat with song, prayers and blessings. These services often feature notable speakers and the beautiful music of our Youth and Teen Choir, Adult Choir and Chai Band.

Most Saturdays Congregation Beth Israel holds Shabbat services in the mornings at 10:00 a.m. and afternoons at 4:00 p.m. in our beautiful Glickman-Galinson sanctuary. These services celebrate the Bar/Bat Mitzvahs of our members and are open to the entire community. Please join us and celebrate Shabbat!
