Tammy Vener has served as Director of Early Childhood for the Bill and Sid Rubin Preschool since 1996. Tammy views the Early Childhood Education department as a place where young families can begin or continue their Jewish journey. It is with great joy that she welcomes and helps families share and engage in a Jewish Life.

Tammy was a founding member of ECE-RJ (Early Childhood Educators of Reform Judaism), and has served on the board for the past ten years. She is currently the President of this national organization. As President she has had the opportunity to advocate for Early Childhood on the national level. Tammy is often asked to speak at national conferences and is called upon by directors from around the country for advice. Her expertise includes family and parent education, community organizing and Jewish summer and family camp.

Tammy holds a BA in Liberal Arts and a California Multiple Subjects Credential from San Diego State University. Tammy is married to Louie Vener and they have three grown children Jacob, Molly and Sophie, all of whom attended the Beth Israel Day School. The Vener family has been active Temple members for 20+ years.

Most Saturdays Congregation Beth Israel holds Shabbat services in the mornings at 10:00 a.m. and afternoons at 4:00 p.m. in our beautiful Glickman-Galinson sanctuary. These services celebrate the Bar/Bat Mitzvahs of our members and are open to the entire community. Please join us and celebrate Shabbat!
