The Arab-Israeli conflict has taken on new contours, and progressive Jews are challenged to navigate and re-imagine the challenges and possibilities of Zionism. Rabbi John Rosove and Dean Joshua Holo will discuss not only the conflict, but also Israel’s character as a Jewish democracy.

These real-time conversations and Q&A with Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion scholars and community leaders will be live-streamed to Beth Israel from HUC in Los Angeles.This is not a live event at Beth Israel. There will be a q and a session at temple following the live streamed portion of the program. It will be led by David Barzilai, Western District Director of ARZA.

Rabbi John L. Rosove is Senior Rabbi of Temple Israel of Hollywood. He is a passionate progressive Reform Zionist, serves on the advisory committee of the Daniel Center of Tel Aviv, and is co-chair of the Rabbinic Cabinet of J Street. He has been a leader in the discussion around progressive Zionism and has advocated strongly for ARZA, the Association of Reform Zionists of America. He has received special commendation from the State of Israel Bonds.
