Israel and the United States have always had a close, if sometimes conflicted, relationship. In this 92nd Street Y satellite broadcast, Dalia Rabin-Pelosoff and Dennis Ross will discuss “the way forward” for both countries amid the turbulence of the Middle East.
Dalia Rabin-Pelosoff is a former Israeli Deputy Minister of Defense and current chairperson of the Yitzhak Rabin Center. She is the daughter of former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.
Ambassador Dennis Ross played a leading role for more than twelve years in shaping U.S. involvement in the Middle East peace process and dealing directly with the parties in negotiations. He was U.S. point person on the peace process in both the George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton administrations. He was instrumental in assisting Israelis and Palestinians to reach the 1995 Interim Agreement; he also successfully brokered the 1997 Hebron Accord, facilitated the 1994 Israel-Jordan peace treaty, and intensively worked to bring Israel and Syria together.
Ethan Bronner is the deputy national editor of The New York Times and the paper’s former Jerusalem bureau chief.
Fee: $5 members; $10 nonmembers (includes light refreshments). For more information contact Program Director Bonnie Graff at bgraff@cbisd.org, or 858 900-2519.
